About Us
Visit Yourself, LLC instructors receive training and oversight from the Spirit Rock Meditation Center in California, the Insight Meditation Community of Washington in D.C., and/or the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program, which originated at the UMASS Medical School. Visit Yourself provides classes at workplaces and also offers private sessions to couples and individuals. Meditation is a simple yet powerful stress-reduction practice. Through practicing meditation, practitioners feel more at ease and make more conscious choices, both on the job and at home. Klia Bassing, MBA, MPP, a Mindfulness Meditation instructor since 2004, founded Visit Yourself at Work. She is the author of the Twitter channel @visityourself, a teacher with the Insight Meditation Community of Washington, and mentor to new mindfulness teachers through the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program led by Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield. Klia brings a deep attentive presence and is known for her compassion and humor. If she senses it would be helpful to normalize a client's experience, she's shares her own personal experiences. Prior to teaching Mindfulness Meditation, Klia worked in international development at The World Bank and in Latin America and the Caribbean.
